Time to Call a Professional
There are some jobs that simply need to be left to the professionals. For example, if you see a snake in your home, call a professional. If you find that you are sharing your home with thousands of pets, call a professional. And, if you think that there may be asbestos anywhere in your home, it is time to call a professional. That is exactly where Airsafe comes into play.
The Tools of the Trade
With NATA (National Association of Testing Authorities) accreditation, the professional Airsafe team can put your mind at ease, when it comes to knowing whether or not you are living with Asbestos. As a matter of fact, same-day PLM (Polarized Light Microscopy) laboratory results are available without any extra surcharge or fees involved.
Safety comes First
With certain precautions in place, a homeowner or resident may feel comfortable extracting an asbestos sample by themselves for the Airsafe's laboratory to use its DS (Dispersion Staining) methods to obtain results. These safety measures include wearing a P2 disposable dust mask while collecting samples, wetting materials to prevent dust from circulating through the air. Other precautions include using hand tools and a sample bag measuring between 5-100g, double bagging every sample collected, and painting over sampling area when finished.
A job done Right
However, in cases of loose fill asbestos insulation, it is highly recommended that only a trained professional collects the sample. This is due to the friable nature of insulation asbestos. Even if you see a home testing kit, it is worth the extra effort to make a call to professionals and get things done right. Although careful collection is crucial, the most important task with proper assessment comes in the testing. And, no other business or organization does a better job of it than Airsafe.
